Castleconnell community information website www.castleconnell.info has been set up and maintained to give you relevant information about our beautiful village which is situated in Co. Limerick, just 6 miles from Limerick city. It is alive with traditional atmosphere and awash with picturesque scenery. It is pleasantly situated on the eastern bank of the Shannon River, which separates Limerick from Clare. It is 1Km from the N7 (Old Dublin road).An enjoyable place to visit, with fine restaurants & Hotel, Convenience shops, river walks and excellent fishing opportunities.

Castleconnell is a popular angling resort, of international acclaim. It's rich game fishing beats and pastoral setting established Castleconnell as a leisure and holiday resort for the gentry in the 18th and 19th centuries. It's salmon fishing and riverside walks to the falls of Doonass have maintained its status as a year-round recreation area. There is a nice walk from the Castleoaks Hotel grounds from the footbridge where you can go over the footbridge to the county Clare side and follow a path that takes you (about half an hour) to Doonass where there is a nice waterfall.

As Castleconnell is on the main line railway network, for those either not travelling by car, or who wish to take a break from the road, the village is easy to get to. Follow this link for up to date timetable information
